	It has been a great honour and privilege for me to have been elected as the first Independent Chairperson of Kilkenny County Council. I take great pleasure in introducing the Annual Report for 2002. The past year has been exceptionally busy and I have had first hand experience of the wide range of activities in which the Council is involved and how the work we do affects the lives of the people living in County Kilkenny. County Manager's Statement

Michael Malone, County Manager, Kilkenny County Council

As County Manager I welcome the publication of the Annual Report of Kilkenny County Council for 2002. The report reviews the activities of the Local Authority and informs the public of the various operations undertaken during the course of the year.
During 2002 progress has been made on a number of various programmes of work which has helped to improve the quality and efficiency of the services provided to the people of Kilkenny.
