Float Entry form for St Patricks Day 2013

A Chara,

The St Patrick's Day Committee are at the advanced stage of planning a weekend 'TradFest' in conjunction with our National Holiday St Patrick's Day on 16th & 17th March 2013.

TradFest will be a celebration of national music, song and dance and aims to bring new business to the city for the weekend. There is a fantastic programme of events in store including free live traditional music, song and dance performances in Kilkenny Castle Park featuring national & local traditional music groups, as well as a TradTrail of musical events taking place throughout Kilkenny pubs, hotels and restaurants.

At the heart of these St. Patrick's Day celebrations, is of course, our annual parade, taking place on Sunday 17th at 2pm. As ever, we invite local community groups and organisations, as well as clubs, schools and businesses to take part in what is always a fantastic day of celebration and entertainment. As this is the year of "The Gathering" the theme for the 2013 parade is based around this idea - celebrating all that is great about Ireland and the Irish, at home and across the world.

Please find application form attached with full details for participants. All groups/individuals wishing to enter the St Patricks Day Community Parade, must complete and return this form (hard copy) by 27th February 2013 to St Patrick's Day Parade, c/o Town Hall, Kilkenny.

Entries will be given a float number once all applications are received. Floats must come to the starting line at St John's Church at 1pm and the Parade commences at 2pm sharp. It follows the usual route - Johns Street, Rose Inn Street, The Parade, High Street and finishing in the market yard where you should arrange for parents to pick children up. There is no charge for community Groups/Clubs and the fee for Commercial Entries is €100.

We look forward to your involvement in the 2013 parade & we hope that once again it will be a great gathering of Kilkenny communities.

Yours sincerely,
Malcolm Noonan
Chairperson
