Castlecomer Local Area Plan

Notice of Extension Castlecomer Local Area Plan 2009-2020

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Section 19(1)(f) of the Planning and Development Acts 2000-2013, that Kilkenny County Council has resolved to extend the life of the Castlecomer, Local Area Plan to the 15th February 2020. The resolution was made on the 10th February 2014.

A copy of the Resolution and the Local Area Plan is available for inspection at the Planning Department, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny, between the hours of 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Notice of Adoption of Castlecomer Local Area Plan 2009-2015

Kilkenny County Council adopted the Local Area Plan for Castlecomer at the meeting of the County Council on the 16th February, 2009.

The Local Area Plan and its accompanying Strategic Environmental Assessment are available on this website below. They are also available for inspection at the Planning Department at County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny between the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday (closed 1-2 pm).

Copies of the LAP are available for purchase through the Planning Department, Kilkenny County Council at a cost of €20 for a hard copy and €10 for the SEA Statement.

The Manager's Report on submissions to the Draft Castlecomer LAP was discussed at a special Council Meeting held on Monday 10th November 2008 and it was proposed to make a number of amendments.

First use of a Wiki by a government organisation in Ireland as part of a public consultative process.

The IS Department and the Planning Department of Kilkenny County Council have just released a new Planning wiki website: http://wiki.kilkennycoco.ie. (A wiki is a collection of web pages designed to enable anyone who accesses it to contribute or modify them). The collaborative encyclopaedia, Wikipedia, is one of the best-known wikis).
