Kilkenny Heritage Week 2012 - 18th to 26th August 2012
Kilkenny Heritage Week 2012
18th - 26th August 2012
Why not take part in Kilkenny's celebrations for Heritage Week? There is a huge variety of fun, entertaining and informative events taking place throughout the city and county as part of National Heritage Week. Most events are free, and many of the events are family friendly. "With over 60 events taking place throughout the county there is something there for everyone", says Dearbhala Ledwidge, Heritage Officer.
Take a guided walk of Kilkenny City's independence Story; be a wildlife detective for a day; learn how to research your family tree; or let the kids take part in archaeology workshops.
The Heritage Office of Kilkenny County Council has produced a brochure which provides details of all the events taking place around the county. To request a free copy of the Kilkenny Heritage Week brochure and for queries on Kilkenny events contact Dearbhala Ledwidge, Heritage Officer, Kilkenny County Council.
There are 64 events on during the week. Some events only have a certain amount of spaces available so book quickly!
