Kilkenny's Severe Weather Local Co-Ordination Group officially stood down on Wednesday 13th January 2010. The severe weather emergency number of 056-7794145 remains in place for residual weather related problems from 9am to 5pm until Friday the 15th of January 2010.

Roads Update Sunday 10/01/10 at 9.30a.m.
The objective, in severe weather conditions, of keeping the priority routes open to traffic has been achieved to date. To enable this to continue will require selective use of remaining salt stocks taking account of the demand that priority routes place on these stocks. Special Assistance Number
An instant response centre operating from county hall Kilkenny will operate from 9am to 8pm until Wednesday the 13th of January. The centre will be open to receive calls from tomorrow morning.
The special assistance number is 0567794145
The number is available to all members of the public who may require genuine emergency assistance, for example, emergency supplies of food, fuel and medication for elderly or ill persons, clearing access for emergency vehicles and emergency rescue and evacuation. The response centre is attended by members of Kilkenny Civil Defence and staff of Kilkenny County Council who will coordinate and arrange logistical efforts.
