Roads Update Tuesday 30th November 9am

Motorway, National and Regional roads were salted last night (Monday) from 9pm onwards. As of Tuesday morning all Motorway and National Routes are passable.

Whilst the vast majority of Regional Roads are passable with care motorists are advised that access via the R704 (Junction 11 M9) from Mullinavat to New Ross is extremely limited. Kilkenny County Council is endeavouring to address this situation and, in the meantime, motorists should use the alternative route M9/N25.

Sections of the local road network have been treated and are passable with extreme care. Salting of local roads will continue today (Tuesday). However many parts of the local road network remain dangerous and only essential journeys should be contemplated on the local road network. Where journeys have to undertaken motorists should seek to access the Motorway, National and Regional Road network as soon as reasonably possible. In addition to the salting services being provided on the local road network by Kilkenny County Council grit has been delivered to approximately 60 locations on the local road network to assist local communities in the addressing their accessibility issues.
