Kilkenny County Councils Severe Weather Response Plan- Press Release No 2 of 5th January 2016 –Issued at 4:45 pm Tuesday 5th January 2016.

Road Closures.

 There are still a number of roads closed due to flooding, most of which are signposted and where with alternative routes have been put in place. Motorists are asked to drive slowly on the alternative routes especially if they are not familiar with the  roadway , and to  be aware of oncoming traffic on these routes.

 The routes are as follows:

Back to School

Wednesday is back to school day for most schools. Extreme care is needed on all roads. Road surfaces have been damaged & there is debris and spot flooding on many roads which will not be visible during darkness .Take extra care at school drop off & pick up points at when travelling behind school buses.
