Public Information for Residents-Kilkenny Central Access Scheme Bridge Construction

Dear Residents,
Below, for your information, is a schedule of the works planned over the coming weeks and months in relation to the new bridge construction. The initial focus is to complete all in-river works by the end of September 2014. Working hours will generally be 7.30am to 7.00pm Monday to Friday, however some Saturday work may be necessary over the next few months.
In the period to the end of September the following works will be undertaken;
1. Site mobilisation and setting up of site compound and offices (located off Green Street adjacent to canoe club)
2. Establishing site boundaries. (As the works advance access through the Peace Park will be restricted and alternative diversion routes will be signed)
3. Construction of temporary river construction access (on both east and west sides)
4. Creation of working areas within river using sheet piles
5. Installation of bridge foundation piles (all piles are bored rather than driven leading to significantly reduced noise disturbance)
A further notice to Residents will issue in mid September advising on the progress of works together with information on works to be undertaken in the period to the end of the year, but in the interim if you have a query, please do not hesitate to contact me at the e-mail address below.

Signed: Michael Murphy, Senior Resident Engineer
