Roadwork’s Notice

Installation of underground ducting and removal of overhead ESB power lines and the installation of new public lighting on Patrick Street, Kilkenny 2017

Kilkenny County Council plan to commence the installation of underground ducting and subsequent removal of the overhead ESB power cables on Patrick Street starting Wednesday the 15th of February 2017.

The works will include:

  1. Excavation of the existing road and footpath
  2. Installation of ESB Ducting and Mini Pillars
  3. Removal of overhead ESB lines and ESB Poles
  4. Installation of underground cable and new Street Lighting Poles

It is envisaged that the works will take 8 weeks starting with excavation work which will take 4-6 weeks to complete with a further 2 weeks to remove poles, install cables and new lighting poles. Traffic management will be in place for the duration of the works. The hours of construction shall be 9.30am to 4pm Monday to Friday and some traffic disruption is envisaged during the construction period.
