Environment Projects Get the Green Light

The Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment announced successful recipients of the 2017 Local Agenda 21 Environment Partnership Fund last week. 15 Kilkenny projects received the green light to start their environment themed projects centred on sustainable development. These projects will be co-funded between the Department and Kilkenny County Council and the total fund is €21,850.

Projects are diverse in nature; some are environmental themed school workshops which will be rolled out to schools in the academic year ahead while other projects will advance the awareness of local biodiversity in communities. A number of projects will assist community groups to divert waste away from landfill by encouraging up-cycling everyday items like furniture.
