Kilkenny County Council Litter Awareness
The reduction of litter is a major priority of Kilkenny County Council. We are fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful counties in Ireland and we should take pride in keeping it that way. A number of initiatives are ran annually to minimise litter and urge everyone to play their part in keeping Kilkenny litter-free.

Kilkenny County Council is participating in a National Litter Monitoring Programme aimed at the establishment of a database of all litter-polluted spots. We also run awareness programmes with national and post-primary schools as part of our Schools Environmental Programme.
The Environment Section deals with many community and residents groups organizing cleanups during National Spring Clean every year between March and May. We offer assistance to Tidy Towns groups all year round by providing bags and gloves.
Information about these programmes is available from the Environment Section, Kilkenny County Council, contact us at 056-7794470 or environment@kilkennycoco.ie
