This Conference which was held on Friday, 4th April, 2008 in Lyrath Estate Hotel, Kilkenny was organised jointly by the Kilkenny Local Authorities, Waterford County Council, CCMA and OLAM (Office of Local Authority Management). The Conference facilitated an understanding of:-

  • the role of Local Authorities in developing and implementing Climate Change Policies
  • the role of the Meteorological Service in supporting Climate Change Strategy
  • the Flood Management Programme being implemented by the OPW
  • the role of the EPA in managing Climate Change
  • best practice approaches currently being adopted by Local Authorities to address Climate Change issues
  • the development and adoption of a shared approach to managing the impacts of Climate Change
