Ossory Pedestrian Bridge - Public Information Evening

A Part 8 public consultation extends to Friday 11th April, 2014. Submissions in respect of the proposed development can be submitted up until that date. To advise on the development proposals Kilkenny County Council will host a Public Information Evening in the Council Chamber, County Hall, John Street from 5.30pm to 8.00pm on Thursday 3rd April, 2014.

The key elements of the Ossory Pedestrian Bridge Project include;

• Pedestrian Bridge linking the Canal Walk and Lacken Walk/Nore Valley Walk
• New Pedestrian Bridge to be supported by the existing arched piers of the Ring Road Ossory Bridge.
• Pedestrian Bridge to consist of timber support beams and deck together with stainless steel balustrade.
• Minor revisions to existing Lacken Walk Boardwalk and Canal Walk to provide connectivity with new Pedestrian Bridge.
• Installation of Bridge to fully accord with methodology agreed with Inland Fisheries Ireland National Parks and Wildlife Service

The Information Evening will facilitate the provision of information on the proposed pedestrian bridge, the design options considered to date, environmental considerations and methodologies proposed for the construction of the Bridge.

Additionally, as appropriate, a questions and answers session will be conducted on the evening. An open invitation is extended to the public to attend on the evening.
