Implementing the National Spatial Strategy
- Regional Planning Guidelines -
In accordance with section 24(4) of the Planning & Development Act 2000, the South-East Regional Authority has prepared Regional Planning Guidelines for the whole of its region, which covers the administrative counties of Carlow, Kilkenny, South Tipperary, Waterford and Wexford and the City of Waterford.
The Guidelines were considered, approved and adopted by the members of the South-East Regional Authority at the May Monthly of the Authority which was held in Carlow on Monday, 24th May, 2004.

The Draft RPG was considered and approved by the Authority at a Special Meeting on 6th February and was placed on public display for the statutory 10-week period. Public Authorities, community organisations, public and private agencies, interest groups and the public generally were invited to make written submissions regarding the Draft Guidelines.
During the public consultation period, which ended on 23rd April, the Project Team publicised the Draft and consulted with the constituent local authorities and with a wide range of bodies and organisations.
A total of 45 written submissions were received on the draft. All written submissions made were taken into consideration and appropriate amendments have been made to the Draft.
