Smarter Travel Day 2012 - 23 June
Kilkenny people are set to celebrate alternative and healthy ways of getting to shop, work and play next Saturday, June 23rd, 2012, in a day with fun and educational activities for the city's locals and visitors alike. The day of activities is being organised by Kilkenny Local Authorities and the local Smarter Travel Office as part of a drive to create a city in which pedestrians, cyclists and people of all ages and abilities find the city easy to access whilst also being a vibrant place in which to do business.
Kilkenny Local Authorities invite all the citizens and visitors of Kilkenny to come out and celebrate the many ways to move around the compact city by the Nore which has become known as the 'ten minute city' as getting around it takes no longer than ten minutes!
Prizes
Every child who cycles to/from school every day of bike week will be presented with a Fabulous Sweat-shirt & a suprize on Saturday at 5pm on the Parade. If a teacher cycles, he/she will get a prize too!! Your school must confirm that you cycle every day.
