Cruinniú na nÓg events in Kilkenny - Friday 14th & Saturday, 15th June 2019

Back with a bang for its second year Cruinniú na nÓg is set to bring even more creative fun and flair on June 14th & 15th 2019.

Completely FREE and taking place countrywide, the events are activity based, with the emphasis on getting young people doing, making and creating.

Kilkenny County Council is working with Kilkenny Library service, Kilkenny Heritage office, Kilkenny Arts office, The Butler Gallery, Design & Craft Council of Ireland, Barnstorm Theatre, TADA! and MacDonagh Junction to bring this initiative to as many children as possible across the county of Kilkenny.

Cruinniú na nÓg returns to Kilkenny in 2019 with  a wide range of cultural, educational and entertainment events for children  on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th June at a variety of locations around Kilkenny City and County.

The Big Dig

Join the School of Irish Archaeology and Butler Gallery for the Big Dig Workshop for Cruinniú na nÓg in Kilkenny City. Children can learn to be archaeologists, exploring the layers of history beneath their feet

At Dig for Treasure, kids can dig for artifacts and learn about the people who lived on this site hundreds of years ago

Young people of Kilkenny Youth Theatre have explored the role of social media and its effect on their relationship with the world throughout the month of May.

They will create a piece, shaped by their views, opinions, and personal experiences of the generation that was born and grew up with social media.

Their work will be shared through social media platforms and in public spaces on the day of Cruinniú na nÓg.

Bring your dinosaur fans to see the real adventures of Teach Rex in Loughboy Libray & MacDonagh Junction shopping centre. Teach Rex will bring their dynamic, science-focused shows to Kilkenny Library Service & MacDonagh Junction Shopping Centre with educational performances for children off all ages. Using a 4m dinosaur, they’ll engage kids and get them to think scientifically.
