12 Communities Receive Funding to Put Litter in Its Place

At the September monthly meeting of Kilkenny County Council, grant approval of €6,825 was given under the anti-litter-graffiti awareness grant which will be distributed between 12 successful recipients. The funding will support anti-litter and anti-graffiti community initiatives that are aligned with the Council's Litter Management Plan objectives. The successful applicants are;

1. Paulstown Development Association
2. Abbey Park Residents Ass., Ferrybank
3. Slieverue Community Resource Centre
4. Keep Kilkenny Beautiful
5. Glenmore Tidy Towns
6. Ballyragget Development Association
7. Kells Tidy Towns
8. Goresbridge Rural Development
9. Aiseiri Aislinn
10. Gowran Development Association
11. Callan Tidy Towns
12. Millennium Community Group

These allocations will support local community initiatives in addition to the wide range of anti-litter and anti-graffiti measures undertaken by Kilkenny County Council throughout the year, such as the largest National Spring Clean campaign ever undertaken in Kilkenny which resulted in over 150 volunteer groups participating this year's campaign.

Kilkenny County Council is committed to supporting community projects that improve the local environment and the last funding opportunity of the year is currently seeking applications for environmental projects under the Community Environment Action Fund. This scheme particularly welcomes proposals promoting local biodiversity and climate change projects.
