Elected Members award 2019 Amenity Grants

At the April Monthly Meeting of Kilkenny County Council held on Monday last, 15th April, 2019, the Elected Members approved a total of €127,000 in funding to 150 community groups consisting of Resident Associations, Tidy Towns Groups and Community Organisations across County Kilkenny under the Amenity Grants Scheme.

The main objective of the Council's Amenity Grant Scheme is to support local communities to undertake the full spectrum of small scale amenity projects from the upkeep, maintenance and enjoyment of public amenities (e.g. grass cutting), through landscaping and development of open spaces to the provision of street and outdoor furniture and small-scale improvement works (e.g. painting).

Cllr Eamon Aylward, Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny County Council in welcoming the allocation of funding under the Scheme stated:
"The Grants provide support to a wide range of small-scale works right across the County that help continue to contribute to the overall amenity of Kilkenny and its reputation as a quality place to live."
