Phil Doyles Retirement

Phil Doyle's Retirement, October 2006

The retirement of Phil Doyle from Kilkenny Fire Rescue after 25 years service was commemorated during the weekly fire service training night on Monday night, 2nd October 2006. Phil was presented gifts from Kilkenny city firefighter's social club and from the senior fire officers of Kilkenny Fire Rescue. Station Officer Joe Traynor gave a brief synopsis of some of the quality attributes Phil brought to Kilkenny fire service, noting what a pleasure he was to work along side even through the tough times. One record that Phil Doyle currently holds in Kilkenny Fire Service is that he is the only firefighter to arrive at a fire on top of a fire engine!
