Variation No 2 to Kilkenny County Development Plan Core Strategy
Planning and Development Acts 2000 - 2010
Notice of Variation 2 of the Kilkenny County Development Plan 2008-2014 entitled - Variation No. 2 Core Strategy which includes amendments in relation to the Settlement Strategy, Housing Strategy and Flood Risk Assessment, and consequent amendments to the Local Area Plans for Ballyhale, Ballyragget, Bennettsbridge, Freshford, Goresbridge, Inistioge, Kells, Kilmacow, Knocktopher, Mooncoin, Mullinavat, New Ross Environs, Slieverue, Stoneyford and Urlingford.
Kilkenny County Council being the Planning Authority for Kilkenny County varied the Kilkenny County Development Plan 2008 on the 19th of September 2011, in order to:
Incorporate a Core Strategy which will bring the Development Plan into line with the provisions of the Regional Planning Guidelines for the South-East Region 2010-2022 in accordance with the requirements of the Planning and Development Act 2010.
You can download a copy of the Variation documents below. A copy of the Development Plan 2008-2014 as varied is also available for inspection at the Planning Department, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny during office hours. Hard copies of Variation 2 and the accompanying Strategic Flood Risk Assessment are available for purchase for €10 each from the Planning Department.

Notice of Proposed Material Alteration to Proposed Variation No. 2 of the Kilkenny County Development Plan 2008-2014 entitled -
Variation No. 2 - Core Strategy which includes amendments in relation to the Settlement Strategy, Housing Strategy and Flood Risk Assessment, and consequent amendments to the Local Area Plans for Ballyhale, Ballyragget, Bennettsbridge, Freshford, Goresbridge, Inistioge, Kells, Kilmacow, Knocktopher, Mooncoin, Mullinavat, New Ross Environs, Slieverue, Stoneyford and Urlingford.
Kilkenny County Council being the Planning Authority for County Kilkenny proposes a number of modifications to Proposed Variation 2 to the Kilkenny County Development Plan 2008-2014. The proposed modifications constitute a material alteration of Proposed Variation No. 2.
A copy of the material alteration to the Proposed Variation may be inspected at the following locations from Wednesday 10th August to Wednesday 7th September 2011 (both dates inclusive, excluding public holidays) during office hours (as stated below) from Monday to Friday:

Hard copies are available for purchase at the Planning Department, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny at the following costs - Material Alteration (€7), Variation (€7), SEA screening (€15) and AA screening (€10).
Written submissions or observations with respect to the proposed material alteration to Proposed Variation 2 may be made, marked "Submission to Variation No. 2 Kilkenny County Development Plan" to the Director of Services Planning, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny from Wednesday 10th August until 4 pm on Wednesday 7th September 2011 or you can make submissions by email to countydevelopmentplan@kilkennycoco.ie. All written and email submissions/observations with respect to the proposed material alteration received within the stated period shall be taken into account by the County Council prior to making Variation 2.

Incorporate a Core Strategy which will bring the County Development Plan into line with the provisions of the Regional Planning Guidelines for the South-East Region 2010-2022 in accordance with the requirements of the Planning and Development Act 2010.
The proposed Variation is accompanied by Environmental screening Reports - a screening report for Strategic Environmental Assessment and a screening report for Appropriate Assessment prepared in accordance with the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations 2004, and the Habitats Directive, respectively; and these are available for inspection.
A copy of the proposed variation and environmental reports may be inspected at the following locations from Thursday 26th May to Wednesday 29th June 2011 (both dates inclusive, excluding public holidays) during office hours (as stated below) from Monday to Friday:

Written submissions or observations regarding the proposed Variation may be made, marked "Submissions in relation to Variation No. 2 Kilkenny County Development Plan" to the Director of Services Planning, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny from 26th May 2011 until 4pm on Wednesday 29th June, 2011 or you can make submissions by email to countydevelopmentplan@kilkennycoco.ie.
All written and email submissions/observations received on or before Wednesday 29th June 2011 will be considered by the County Council prior to varying the Kilkenny County Development Plan.
