Kilkenny County Library Service is continuing its programme of events as part of the National Library Initiative "Healthy Ireland at your Library" to help you and your family start off on the right track this New Year. With events on mindfulness at work, talks on living with dementia, Relax Kids workshops and themed story times for kids we have something for adults and children alike!

If you are looking to reduce stress at work in 2019 then do not miss Louise Shanagher's workshop on Mindfulness at Work taking place in Castlecomer Library and Graiguenamanagh Library. Louise is a psychology lecturer and mindfulness teacher and will discuss how you can be more mindful at work and reduce stress while increasing productivity and focus. Louise will also provide two mindfulness sessions for children, suitable for 7-12yrs old, which will help children to manage their emotions and promote positive mental health.

Did you know that 500,000 families nationwide are affected by dementia? Caroline Clifford a local Dementia Champion and a nursing specialist will give talks on living with dementia and what supports are available to help those with dementia and their families. If you know someone recently diagnosed with dementia, why not come along to Caroline's talk to hear what exactly dementia is, and how you can help. Caroline will speak in Loughboy Library, Ferrybank Library and Callan Library, for dates and times contact your local branch.

Gillian Cody from Relax Kids will be in Urlingford, Ferrybank and City Library branches to bring her brilliant workshops teaching youngsters how to be positive and calm. Help your children to become more resilient, confident and happier this year!

In addition to the events, a range of new books have been added to the Healthy Ireland at your Library book collections which can be found in each branch library across the county.
