Dog Licence application

Do you have a dog? If so, you need a licence - under the Control of Dogs Act 1986, as amended all dog owners are required to have a dog licence. All revenue generated from dog licences goes towards funding the Dog Warden Service and the Dog Shelter in Paulstown.

Types of Dog Licences and costs.

A Single Dog Licence costs €20/year.

A Lifetime of Dog Licence costs €140 for the duration of an individual dogs life.

A General Dog Licence costs €400/year. It is for an unspecified number of dogs but for a specific address.

Single and Lifetime Dog licences may be purchased from or from your local post office. For online purchases you will be asked to set up an account with if you don't already have one, and you will need an email address as part of the registration process. Your licence should issue to you by post within 10 working days.
