Role of Planning Department

The primary objective of the Planning Department is to facilitate, in line with national policies, the development of the county, to encourage sustainable growth and improvement in living standards and environment for the citizens of the county and visitors alike.
The role and function of the Planning Department is, therefore, as follows:

  1. Determination of physical planning policy for the county
  2. Control of new development and building.
  3. Promotion of industrial, commercial and other appropriate development.
