Emergency Response Payment Now Available for Storm Chandra
The Department of Social Protection has confirmed that the Emergency Response Payment (formerly the Humanitarian Assistance Scheme) is now available for households directly affected by Storm Chandra in Kilkenny in addition to other counties.
This support helps households facing hardship due to flooding or severe weather damage. It can assist with essential immediate needs, replacement of essential household items, and urgent structural repairs, depending on the stage of the scheme.
📌 Stage 1 (Immediate Support) Covers essential items such as food, clothing and bedding. Available until Wednesday, 4 February 2026. (Not income‑tested.)
📌 Stages 2 & 3 Support for essential household items and structural repairs (income‑tested under a more generous assessment).
