Discharge Licence Kilkenny County Council Discharge to Water Discharge to Sewer

Discharge to Waters

Kilkenny County Council Environment Section is the statutory licensing authority under Section 4 of the Local Government (Water Pollution) Acts, 1977 and 1990 for the City and County of Kilkenny. Section 4 of the Act sets out the licensing requirements for the discharge of trade and sewage effluent to ground or surface waters. It should be noted that Kilkenny County Council generally does not issue discharge licences for the discharge of domestic sewage from a single house to surface waters. Domestic sewage discharges of less than 5m3 per day to groundwater are exempt from Section 4.
