South East Greenway Mural
Kilkenny County Council is proud to introduce the South East Greenway Mural. The 160m long public art installation is located near Ferrybank on the South East Greenway which runs between Waterford and New Ross.
Funded by the Creative Ireland Scheme and inspired by the local area, the mural captures key landmarks such as The Pope’s Tower and Ferrybank Grotto.
The mural was designed and painted by Street Art Ink, who took on board feedback from public consultation events with local community groups.
Kilkenny County Council would also like to thank Graham Carew who assisted during the design and public consultation process.
The mural will be available to view for free on the section of Greenway between Curraghmore and Ferrybank which will open to the public shortly.
Launched in 2017 following the Ireland 2016 initiative, the Creative Ireland Programme is a culture-based initiative designed to foster cultural participation and wellbeing. The Kilkenny Creative Ireland grant scheme supports local and community groups, individuals, artistic and creative practitioners, and event organisers in their efforts to enhance cultural participation and wellbeing in Kilkenny.
