Kilkenny County Council adopted Amendment 1 to the Local Area Plan for Castlecomer at the meeting of the County Council on the 18th June, 2012.
The Amendment is available on this website below. It is also available for inspection at the Planning Department at County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny between the hours of 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday. Copies of Amendment 1 are available for purchase from the Planning Department for €5.

Notice of Material Alteration to Proposed Amendment 1 to the Castlecomer Local Area Plan
Notice is hereby given that Kilkenny County Council proposes to materially alter Proposed Amendment 1 to the Castlecomer Local Area Plan. A copy of the Material Alteration may be inspected from Tuesday 10th April to 8th May 2012 at the following locations from Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays):

The Material Alteration to the Proposed Amendment is also available on this website below.
Submissions or observations with respect to the Material Alteration, made in writing to the Director of Services, Planning, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny and received before 4pm on the 8th May 2012, will be taken into consideration before the Material Alteration is made. Submissions can also be made via email to localareaplans@kilkennycoco.ie
Copies of the Material Alteration will be available for purchase from the Planning Department, Kilkenny County Council.

At the Council meeting on the 20/03/2012, the Council considered the Manager's Report on Submissions to Proposed Amendment 1 and resolved to materially alter Proposed Amendment 1 to the Castlecomer Local Area Plan.

Notice of Proposed Amendments 1 to Callan, Castlecomer and Graiguenamanagh Local Area Plans and Proposed Amendment 2 to Thomastown Local Area Plans
Notice is hereby given that Kilkenny County Council proposes to amend the Local Area Plans for Callan, Castlecomer, Graiguenamanagh and Thomastown.
A copy of the Proposed Amendments may be inspected from Wednesday 21st December 2011 to 10th February 2012 at the following locations from Monday to Friday (excl. public holidays):

Strategic Environmental Assessment of Proposed Amendment 1 to the Castlecomer Local Area Plan
In accordance with the requirements of Article 14A of the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations 2004 as amended, Kilkenny County Council carried out a screening exercise of Amendment 1, to consider whether or not the amended Plan would be likely to have significant effects on the environment, taking account of relevant criteria set out in Schedule 2A of the Regulations. In accordance with Article 14A(5) a determination has been made that implementation of the amended plan would not be likely to have significant effects on the environment.
