Notice of Proposed Amendments to the
Draft Kilkenny County Development Plan 2014-2020
Draft Kilkenny City & Environs Development Plan 2014-2020


Notice is hereby given that the Councils of the Borough and County of Kilkenny, pursuant to the provisions of the above Acts, proposes to make amendments to the draft Development Plans for Kilkenny County and City & Environs for the period 2014-2020 which are material alterations.

A copy of the Proposed Amendments to the Draft Development Plans Environmental Reports and Appropriate Assessments may be inspected for a 4 week period from Friday the 14th of February 2014 to Friday the 14th of March 2014 at the following locations:

  • The Planning Office of Kilkenny County Council, County Hall, John Street and the Offices of Kilkenny Borough Council, City Hall, High Street, Kilkenny during the hours of 9.00 a.m. to 1.00pm and 2.00pm to 4.00 p.m., Monday to Friday (both dates inclusive but excluding Public Holidays).
  • The Council's Area Offices with opening hours as follows:
    Thomastown Area Office -Mon to Fri 9am-5pm, closed 1-2pm.
    Callan Area Office - Mon to Fri 9am-5pm, closed 1-2pm.
    Castlecomer Area Office - Mon to Fri 9am-5pm, closed 1-2pm.
    Ferrybank Area Office - Mon to Fri 9am-5pm, closed 1-2pm.
  • The City and County Library, Johns Quay, Kilkenny and the branch Libraries at Loughboy, Ferrybank, Urlingford and Graiguenamanagh during their normal opening hours.
  • The Council's dedicated Development Plan website ourplan.kilkenny.ie

Written submissions or observations with respect to the proposed material alterations to the Draft Development Plan, Environmental Report and Appropriate Assessment may be made to Kilkenny County Council up to 5pm on Friday the 14th of March 2014. Submissions shall be addressed to the Director of Services, Planning Department, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny. Submissions may also be made online at ourplan.kilkenny.ie by following the links on the site or via email to ourplan@kilkennycoco.ie.

All submissions received before 5pm on Friday the 14th of March 2014 shall be taken into account by the Planning Authority before the Development Plan is made.
Please include your name and address on a separate page to the content of your submission. This is to assist Kilkenny Borough and Kilkenny County Councils in complying with the provisions of the Data Protection Act. Please note that all submissions will be made available for public viewing on the Council's website during the plan-making period.
